Stoddard County Release Records
A release from Stoddard County Jail means one local custody event ended. It does not always mean the person went home. The person may have left after bond, an own-recognizance order, time served, sentence completion, or another court order. The jail may instead have transferred the person to another county, the Missouri Department of Corrections, federal authorities, immigration custody, a hospital, or another destination.
The completed jail release record is the best source for the physical exit. It should show when county custody ended and, when recorded, why the person left and where the person went. A court order can explain the legal authority. MOVANS can report a custody movement. State or federal records can show the next system. These records must be read as a sequence, since no one database covers every Stoddard County release.
Ways Stoddard County Custody Ends
The label used for a Stoddard County release determines the next search. Some terms describe a community exit. Others describe a change in legal or physical custody. The distinctions below prevent a transfer from being mistaken for freedom from custody.
| Release type | What it means | Where to check next |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or recognizance | Local detention ends while the criminal case continues. | Jail release record and Case.net bond entries |
| Court ordered | A judge authorizes release, subject to processing and any other hold. | Case.net order plus the jail’s completed release entry |
| Time served or completion | The custodial portion identified by the court or facility is satisfied. | Release log, judgment, sentence, and jail-credit entries |
| Probation | The court places the person in the community under supervision. | MODOC active search and the assigned field office |
| Parole or conditional release | A state prisoner leaves prison under Board and MODOC supervision. | MODOC record, Board action, and MOVANS if applicable |
| Transfer or detainer handoff | Custody continues with MODOC, another county, ICE, USMS, or another agency. | The named receiving agency |
| Final discharge | The relevant sentence or supervision duty ends. | MODOC Sunshine data or a tailored records request |
Note: Escape, death, hospitalization, or a data change must not be described as an ordinary Stoddard County release.
Fields in a Stoddard Release Record
A useful Stoddard County Jail record ties the person to one booking and makes the custody exit auditable. Ask for enough detail to distinguish people with similar names and to connect the release with the correct court case. No public county feed was found, so this inventory describes fields to request from the custodian, not fields promised on a public screen.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Full name and identifier | Distinguishes the person tied to the custody event. |
| Booking number | Links the release to one local jail admission. |
| Arresting agency | Identifies whether the Sheriff, Highway Patrol, or a city agency initiated the case. |
| Booking date and time | Marks the start of the local custody event. |
| Charge and case references | Connect the booking with court and arrest records. |
| Bond or order information | May explain the legal basis for release. |
| Release date and time | Marks when the facility recorded the physical exit. |
| Release type or reason | Separates bond, time served, court release, transfer, and other outcomes. |
| Destination or receiving agency | Shows whether the person entered the community or remained in custody elsewhere. |
| Associated booking photograph | Identifies the image from that booking when it is releasable. |
A disposition should also be requested or checked in the court file. It can remain useful after an arrest record closes or a web result disappears. The booking photo is not proof of guilt, case outcome, or later release.
Request a Stoddard County Release Record
No dedicated Sheriff request form, records email, posted fee schedule, office hours, or release-record retention schedule was located. Call the jail first to confirm the current custodian and accepted submission method. Then make a narrow Chapter 610 request for the specific custody event.
- Gather the full name, distinguishing details, approximate booking date, arresting agency, and known case number.
- Call 573-568-4654. Ask who currently receives jail-record requests and whether electronic delivery is available.
- Address a written request to Stoddard County Sheriff, Attn: Jail Records/Open Records, 207 S. Prairie St., Bloomfield, MO 63825. “Attn: Jail Records/Open Records” is a practical routing label, not a verified unit title.
- Ask for the booking and release record, including the fields in the inventory above. Request reasonably segregable open portions if some material is closed.
- Ask for an estimate before costs exceed a stated ceiling. Request native electronic format when practical and ask that any denial identify its legal basis.

MODOC Records
OD.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov
Use for tailored state corrections records after checking active and Sunshine data.
Under RSMo 610.023, the custodian must respond as soon as possible and no later than the end of the third business day. That is a response deadline, not a promise of final production within three days. If more time is needed, the custodian must explain the delay and give the earliest availability.
RSMo 610.026 permits ordinary paper charges up to ten cents per page, plus allowed staff and research costs, and can allow prepayment. No flat Stoddard County release-record fee was verified. Ask for a written estimate instead of assuming one.
Note: A precise request reduces search time and makes it easier for the custodian to separate open material from closed fields.
Missouri Law and Stoddard Records
Missouri Sunshine Law is the starting point, but not every field in a criminal-justice file is open in every case. RSMo 610.100 gives arrest and incident reports an open-record component while also allowing closure in defined circumstances. If an arrested person is not charged within 30 days, the arrest report generally closes except for disposition information. Investigative, security, juvenile, and other lawful limits may also apply.
A qualifying expungement order under RSMo 610.140 can make named court and agency records confidential. Its waiting period runs from completion of the authorized disposition, not merely from booking or physical release. Sealed, confidential, or expunged material may therefore vanish from an online search even though it was once visible.
The Stoddard County Regional Juvenile Detention Center follows a different legal path. Chapter 211 protections mean juvenile identity, placement, transfer, and release must not be treated as an adult name-search product. Questions belong with the juvenile court and authorized channels.
Stoddard Release Terms in Context
Corrections terms can describe very different stages of one Stoddard County case. Clear definitions help keep a jail exit, state supervision, and final sentence completion separate.
- Parole
- Discretionary Missouri Parole Board release from a prison term into MODOC supervision.
- Probation
- A court disposition served in the community, not a release from state prison.
- Conditional release
- Missouri’s statutory conditional discharge under Board and probation-and-parole supervision.
- Discharge
- The end of the relevant sentence or supervision obligation.
- Detainer
- A request or hold that can lead to another agency taking custody when local detention ends.
- Expungement
- A court process that can make qualifying records confidential when statutory requirements are met.
Does an empty search mean a person was released? No. The record may be outside that system, misspelled, fully discharged, confidential, expunged, offline, or aged out. A no-result screen is weak evidence without a release record.
Find a Released Stoddard County Inmate
Start with the system that last held the person. Keep dates and identifiers from each result. The goal is to build an event chain: arrest, booking, court action, physical county exit, receiving custody, community supervision, and final discharge.
- For a known Stoddard County Jail stay, call the jail and ask for the physical release time, reason, and destination. Follow with a written record request.
- For a recent Highway Patrol arrest, search the five-day MSHP report by Stoddard arrest county. Treat its release field as preliminary and Patrol-only.
- For possible prison transfer, parole, probation, or conditional release, search MODOC. An active result can show prison custody or community supervision, but the browser excludes fully discharged people.
- For a completed state case, check MODOC Sunshine data or send a tailored request. Reconcile completion and date fields across every charge row.
- Use Case.net and the Circuit Clerk for the legal outcome. A dismissal, bond order, judgment, probation order, or revocation explains the case, not the exact jail exit minute.
- Use MOVANS for a specific-person custody movement and SMS or email alert. Confirm the reason and destination with the reporting jail.
- For a federal or immigration path, use BOP or ICE with exact identifiers, then verify any transfer with the agency that accepted custody.
If sources conflict, preserve each timestamp. Contact the agency that controlled custody at the disputed time. A later court disposition does not rewrite an earlier booking, and a later MODOC discharge can coexist with an earlier county transfer.
Note: Exact spelling, aliases, date of birth, booking or DOC number, offense county, and case number reduce false matches.
MODOC Search for Stoddard Releases
The Missouri Department of Corrections Offender Web Search covers active offenders, including people in prison, on parole, or on probation. It searches first and last name plus aliases after a CAPTCHA. Its warning is vital: discharged offenders are not included. A former state prisoner can appear during active community supervision and then leave this browser search after final discharge.
The official MODOC search screen makes that active-only limit plain.
That warning explains why a blank result cannot confirm a Stoddard County release or discharge.
| Search detail | How to use it | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| First and last name | Start with exact spelling. | Common names can produce several matches. |
| Alias | Repeat the search with a known alternate name. | An alias may not be recorded. |
| DOC number and birth details | Use available identifiers to distinguish results. | Do not rely on name alone. |
| Assigned place or status | Separate prison custody from field supervision. | Neither label means final discharge. |
| Sentence and offense facts | Compare county, cause number, and sentence details. | Multiple charges may require reconciliation. |
For historical state involvement, use the MODOC Sunshine data. It reaches people who are or have been under MODOC supervision and includes records dating as far back as 1974. The fixed-width file can contain one row per charge. Relevant fields include DOC ID, name, assigned place, cause number, offense and sentence county, sentence date, Completed Flag, Sentence-I Minimum Release Date, and Sentence Maximum Release Date.
A Completed Flag of “Y” means the sentence is complete. Documented sentinel date values must not be displayed as ordinary dates. MODOC also warns about data quality and older-system conversions, so these fields support a history but do not replace the completed release record when the exact physical exit matters.
Stoddard County Recent Release Checks
No verified official Stoddard County web roster, 24-hour list, 72-hour list, booking archive, or sheriff mobile app was found as of July 27, 2026. The Sheriff’s Facebook page carries selected agency news and arrest material, not a complete release ledger. This is a documented web-search finding, not a claim that the jail lacks an internal management system.
The only verified short-window local signal is the Missouri State Highway Patrol Online Arrest Reports. Search Stoddard as the arrest county. A detail can show “Where Held” and “Release Info,” including “RELEASED.” Reports are preliminary, remain online for five days, and cover only Highway Patrol arrests.
The Patrol search offers a real, limited alternative to an invented county feed.
Its five-day view cannot find Sheriff or city-police arrests that fall outside Patrol reporting.
Can a Patrol result replace the jail record? No. It is a useful official clue for a recent MSHP arrest, but it does not provide the complete county release history or cover all arresting agencies. Confirm the event with the jail and court.
Note: The Sheriff’s public social channel may preserve an arrest image while omitting the later release, transfer, or court disposition.
Stoddard Court Records After Release
Missouri Case.net and the Stoddard County Circuit Clerk form the durable local disposition path after a jail entry disappears. Search by litigant name or exact case number, select the proper Stoddard court, and review the case header, parties, docket entries, charges, judgments, sentences, hearings, and available documents.
Look for dismissal, plea or verdict, bond action, judgment, jail credit, probation, amended judgment, revocation, satisfaction, or discharge entries. A release order proves legal authority, but another hold or processing step can delay the physical exit. A sentence with jail credit may support a time-served explanation, but the docket should not be used to calculate an unverified release minute.

573-568-4640
stoddard.Shared.eMail@courts.mo.gov
Case.net name search retrieves people identified as litigants. Protected parties, confidential or secure cases, sealed records, and expunged records may be absent. An exact case number or courthouse terminal may improve permitted access, but it does not override a closure.
Stoddard Release Supervision and Support
A person may be out of jail or prison while remaining active in MODOC. Probation comes from a court. Parole and conditional release follow a state prison term through the Missouri Parole Board and Division of Probation and Parole. The active MODOC search can identify supervised people, while the assigned field office can confirm the supervising office and other public supervision information.
Stoddard County’s current satellite is District 22S at 1003 Wildwood, Suite A, Dexter, MO 63841, 573-624-9434. Older local material calls Dexter “District 37,” but the current MODOC listing controls. Statewide office hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except state holidays. The field office is a supervision source, not the source of the jail’s exact release timestamp.
The local MODOC resource guide also names Stoddard-specific, purpose-neutral services, including Stoddard County Transit Service, SEMO Behavioral Health, Gospel Mission, the Health Department, New Beginnings/Lighthouse, and state or local service offices. The guide does not guarantee eligibility, open capacity, or hours. Call before relying on a listing.
District 22S is the local path for supervision verification, while Missouri Parole Board records follow their separate public-information and Sunshine routes.
Note: A field-office assignment supports active community supervision, while final discharge requires separate MODOC completion evidence.
Getting Home After Stoddard Release
The official Dexter probation-and-parole resource guide lists Stoddard County Transit Service at 1010 Wildwood in Dexter, 573-624-8624. It does not publish a jail pickup stop, fare, route, release-hour schedule, or promise of a ride from Bloomfield. A released person or family should call before counting on the service.
Timing matters. Evening and weekend jail releases may occur when an office or scheduled service is closed. First confirm that the person is returning to the community rather than transferring to another agency. Then verify the pickup point, available route, fare, and operating time directly with the transit provider or another arranged ride.
This local transportation fact should not be stretched beyond its source. The listing proves that the service is a named local resource. It does not prove that Stoddard County Jail coordinates transportation or that a driver will meet a release.
Stoddard Release Alerts and Transfers
Missouri now uses the MOVANS portal for local-jail custody notifications. On May 5, 2026, local-jail users had to create new registrations. Phone calls and VINELink-app alerts ended for local jail events, while SMS and email became the current delivery methods. A movement alert reports what a participating agency sent; it does not explain bond, time served, dismissal, transfer, or destination.
Federal cases use other tools. The BOP locator includes name, register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location. “RELEASED” means the person is no longer in BOP custody, not that all supervision or other custody has ended. Computerized coverage primarily reaches people incarcerated from 1982 forward.
The ICE locator searches by A-number and country of birth, or by exact name, country of birth, and date of birth. It focuses on current ICE custody or CBP custody longer than 48 hours and may retain some released people for 60 days. People under 18 are excluded, and not every eligible person appears.
An ICE detainer can turn a Stoddard County jail release into a handoff. No federal prison or ICE facility was located in Stoddard County, but that does not rule out transfer elsewhere. USMS does not release federal-prisoner information to the public, so use BOP, the federal court docket, and the holding facility for that path.
Stoddard Jail History and Limits
Local jail history helps explain public attention to the Stoddard County facility, but old figures must stay in their proper time. KFVS reported that in 2018 the Sheriff described a jail designed for 28 people while holding 83. The same report said voters approved two propositions connected with staffing and renovation or construction, with reported support of 59 percent and 56 percent.
Those figures document conditions and voter action in 2018. They do not establish the jail’s current rated capacity, current population, completion of a building project, or present release procedure. The historic report adds context without filling gaps in the current release record.
Where Stoddard Release Evidence Lives
Choose the source by custody scope and by the fact that needs proof. A current roster answers who is held now. A release record answers when and how one custody event ended. Court, state, notification, and federal systems add different pieces.
| System | Best use | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Stoddard jail phone or release record | Actual county exit, type, and destination if recorded | Later state, federal, or supervision discharge |
| MSHP five-day report | Recent Patrol arrest, where held, and preliminary release field | Sheriff or municipal-only arrests |
| Case.net | Court order, judgment, and disposition | The minute the jail completed release |
| MODOC active search | Active prison custody, parole, or probation | Fully discharged offenders |
| MODOC Sunshine data | Historical and current sentence or completion fields | Exact county-jail physical exit without reconciliation |
| MOVANS | Reported custody movement and alerts | Full release reason or destination |
| BOP or ICE | Federal or immigration custody within each locator’s scope | All other custody and supervision |
A current-custody roster is not the place to expect a released person to remain. The record left by the releasing agency, followed by the appropriate next system, is the reliable path.
Stoddard County Detention Facilities
Two verified detention facilities belong in the Stoddard County map. They serve different populations and require different release-record handling.
Stoddard County Jail
207 S. Prairie St., Bloomfield, MO 63825
573-568-4654
The adult county jail may release a person to the community or transfer custody. Its release record is the primary source for the actual exit.
Stoddard County Regional Juvenile Detention Center
100 S. Prairie St., Bloomfield, MO 63825
This regional juvenile facility is not an adult lookup. Placement and release questions must follow juvenile-court and authorized agency channels.
Dexter Police Department is a verified arresting agency, not a documented public jail. For a Dexter arrest, ask whether the person was cited and released, held briefly, or taken to Stoddard County Jail. No adult state prison, federal prison, ICE detention center, or USMS facility was found in the county.
